Rules are an important part of any organization, including that of an RPG. Read the following rules carefully and head to them else you face the consequences.

Overall Site Rules

- I, Jay, am the Administrator/Owner of Dinosaur Realm. As the Admin, I expect to be respected and in turn I will respect you. Respect my decisions, my judgment and me in general and I will do the same for you.

- RESPECT all Staff. They are here to help and here to keep order in the RPG.

- RESPECT all Members. Everyone has a different opinion and a different view. Respect one another and treat each other fairly.

- POST in the appropriate boards. Each board is named and described for such threads. If you are confused, please contact me via PM or C-Box.

- HELP keep the site free of rule-breakers! If you see someone break a rule, its okay to kindly tell them it’s against the rules. If they persist, pursue them yourself no further. Contact a Staff member to deal with the situation.

- ACTIVITY is a must! If you are going to join, be sure you can stay active! I understand things come up and that's okay! Just let us know that you won't be as active for such-and-such reason.

- JOINING Dinosaur Realm means we expect you to post within 2 weeks of joining. If you do not post without giving us a certain reason why you can't, YOUR ACCOUNT WILL BE DELETED!

- MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS are not allowed! Only 1 account per person.

- DO NOT post large pictures; if they stretch the page put the image as a URL.

- SPAMMING, CURSING, UNAUTHORIZED ADVERTISING (ie: Porn), BULLYING, HARRASSMENT, HACKING, ETC. WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!!! CONSIDER THIS YOUR FIRST AND FINAL WARNING!

Respect (Karma)

This was brought to my attention when someone joined the site and the same day smited (bit) me. Now, I would understand if there was a good reason as to why, but to join and just do that is not fair or right.

Karma is meant for members to raise, or lower, the respect of a member. It is a bar that can make or break you on here. I think respect is earned.

If you are caught doing such a deed, and not just to me, to anyone on DR, you will be banned, permantely. I am highly disgusted by the fact it happened and I will be hightly disgusted with any who dare do it again.

Character Creation Rules

- Only create the species of Dinosaurs that are in the list provided. Do not ask to make a character of a certain species if it is not listed.

- No limit on the number of characters a person may role play but they all must be active.

- Follow the form provided! If it is not followed, it will be declined until it is fixed.

- All information about Dinosaur Ranks, Ages, Species, Heights, Weights, etc, are located in the General Information Board. Look here for all you need to know.

- KEEP ALL INFORMATION REALISTIC! Besides the Dinosaurs being able to talk, they have no magical abilities or are overly-huge compared to others.

Signatures, Avatars & Pictures

- Avatars must be appropriate for a PG-13 site. If it is not seen appropriate, it will be replaced by staff and you will be warned.

- Signatures must not stretch the page! If they do, you will be warned by staff. Signatures must be no wider than 500 px. I may allow a little wider, but not by much. Also, make the length of it resonable.

- Pictures of your character must not stretch the page! This also goes for any picture posted on the site. If it does, put it in a URL instead of as a picture.

Role Playing Rules

- No Godmoding, Power playing, etc. This means you cannot role play someone else’s dinosaur or create a dinosaur out of thin air to interact with. Same goes with fighting: If DinoA slashes at DinoB, it is up to DinoB if the attack hits or misses and vice-versa. (More on Battles below)

- No Talking to 'Imaginary' Characters. Same as Godmoding. You cannot create a character out of thin air for your character to speak with and talk to. That defeats the purpose of an RPG. Imaginary characters can be created however in only a few instances: hunting or just seeing. There can be no actual 'fighting' between the Imaginary and Real character.

- Characters may not be in 2 places at once. This may also be known as God-moding or Power playing.

- No Cursing. Keep it PG-13 at the most.

- No Flooding a thread. This means if there are 3 of you posting, give everyone a chance to post before 2 of you keep going without them.

- Use either Parentheses (()) or OOC (Out Of Character) to speak out of character when Role-playing. It is not needed outside of the RP. DO NOT POST WITH JUST OOC IN AN IN CHARACTER THREAD! If you are not in a thread but wish to make a comment, use the C-box or PM the person.

- Be realistic with your information. Meaning, a small carnivore, like a raptor, can't take down a full grown sauropod in a hunt scene, no matter if there is a pack or not. A Dilophosaurus cannot fight and win against a T-rex unless a certain major hinderance is against the T-rex. Get the point? Make it all realistic.

- Have fun with it!

Fighting Rules

- Fights can occur at any time and over anything. Be prepared!

- Don't be Noobish! This means your dinosaur cannot be indestructible or untouchable. In every fight, both, or all, opponents get beat up, scraped or cut. It cannot be helped, unless the opponent is dodging every attack and not counter-attacking. Be sensible about fighting.

- Herd/Clan/Pack can be challenged for leader positions. (More on this is below in Claiming Herd/Clan/Pack)

Breeding/Birthing Rules

Below is a table of when Dinosaurs may breed and when they will have their babies.

Beginning Dry Season - Herbivore Breeding
End Dry Season - Carnivore Breeding/ Herbivore Lays Eggs
Beginning Wet Season - Herbivore Birthing/Carnivore Lays Eggs
End Wet Season - Carnivore Birthing

- Small Herbivores May breed at the age of 5 years.

- Hadrosaurs/Iguanadons/Parasaurs may breed at the age of 8 Years.

- Ceratops may breed at the age of 10 years.

- Sauropods may breed at the age of 20 years.

- Raptors may breed at the age of 6 years.

- Spinosaurs may breed at the age of 7 years.

- Tyrannosaurs/Carnosaurs may breed at the age of 8 years.

- Ceratosaurs may breed at the age of 5 years.

- Pterasuars may breed at the age of 4 years.

- Any Breeding down outside of the breeding season will result in only 1 egg and the child will be hindered in some way, ((Blindness, lameness, deaf, mute, etc.))

- No Force Breeding or Graphic Breeding. If you are to have 2 characters breed then use something like "Rex mounted ------------ dismounted. He couldn't believe he would be a father...."

- The Eggs are laid 1 season after being bred. Another season will pass and the eggs can hatch. Only 1-2 eggs will hatch and I will be the judge of that.

- Use the form provided to have eggs. Once the form is filled out I will reply to it with what your children will be and look like.

- NO CROSSBREEDING! All dinosaurs must breed with the same species of dinosaur.

- NO GAY/LESBIAN/BI RELATIONSHIPS! It doesn’t happen in the wild therefore it will not happen on this site.

- You may not breed 2 of your own characters.

- YOU MAY ONLY ASK TO ROLEPLAY ONE OF YOUR CHARACTERS CHILDREN IF IT HAS TWINS! Otherwise, you may not Role Play your characters child.

Creating/Claiming Land Rules

- The areas named Unclaimed Land # are areas for Herds/Clans/Packs to claim. You must create a Herd/Clan/Pack in order to claim the land.

- Follow the form in order to create a clan. First come, first serve! You must wait for your clan to be accepted before you may start to RP with it.

- You may create only 1 Herd, 1 Clan, and 1 Pack which makes 3 total that you may create.

- If you create a clan, you are expected to have your character as its leader. If you do not wish for your character to be leader, you may ask around for anyone who does. Until you find a leader for your Herd/Clan/Pack, it will not be accepted!

- You may Role Play your character claiming a land but you must have created your Clan/Pack/Herd first and it must have been accepted.

- Other dinosaurs may come and challenge the leader for Lead Position of the Herd/Clan/Pack, but it is entirely up to the owner of the Lead Character if the Position is to change.

- In real life, Pack animals would only form a pack with their own kind; however, in this RPG I will allow certain species to join packs. For example:

All Species of Raptors could join any Raptor pack (Ex. A Pyroraptor in a Velociraptor Pack) but couldn't join a pack with T-rexes or Giganotosaurus'.
A T-rex (Or other large carnivore like them ((Cacharadontosaurus, Taborasaurus, Daspletosaurus, etc.) Could join a Giganotosaurus pack but a Spinosaurus could not.
A Spinosaurus could join a Baryonx group but no others.

Herd animals can be mixed as long as they are similar to the group they join. An example would be a Muttaburasaurus joining an Edmontosaurus herd, or a Parasauralophus joining a Corythosaurus herd.

Changing Character Profiles

I understand that as time goes on in the RP, sometimes a characters personality will change or add on, or also their physical description may change, as in young dinosaurs that grow up or dinosaurs gaining a prodominent scar from a fight. I hereby do allow that character profiles may be changed BUT here is the catch. In order to change it, you must use the form provided and PM it to me. I will then add a reply to your characters Bio that states what has changed. Now there are rules as to what you can and cannot change.

-Physical Description-

• May be changed if it is a young character growing up and developing muscles, mature colors, etc. or if the character has gained a scar, limp, hinderance, etc. that would affect his/her lifestyle in the rp.
  
• Cannot be changed to drastic measures, IE: A thin frail adult dinosaur all of a sudden grows powerful muscles.
  
• Things such as eye color cannot be changed.

-Personality-
There is really no set rules against changing a personality, but don't be drastic about it. There are times that bad dinosaurs, will turn good, which is fine. But the dinosaur will still have to struggle in life at trying to be good, which should be stressed in his Personality.

-Length, Height, Weight-
Adult dinosaurs cannot have this changed, but young dinosaurs can. Please try to use common sense when you send this information to me and try to map out how big your dinosaur will get each year. If your information sounds incorrect to me, I will change it as seen fit.

-Age, Age Rank-
Age will automatically be updated by an Admin each time we have gone through 4 seasons, which means you don't have to worry about it.

-Name, Gender, Species, Picture, History-
These are things that cannot be changed. They will remain the same forever. If your character starts to build a history with DR, then post your information in the Character Logs section. That is what that is there for.

Understand, you cannot send any information to me unless we are in the End of the Wet Season and I have announced that I will be accepting applications for Profile Changes. Also understand that it is against the rules to modify your bio after it has been accepted! If you are found to do this, you will be banned for 3 days! If you do it again, you will lose that character! Thank you. Remember to PM me the following form so that I can change the bio.

Consequences

Upon becoming a member of Dinosaur Realm, you are expected to follow the said rules above. If you do not, you will face consequences that will be decided upon the time of the offense. Most offenses, upon being committed for the first time, will be addressed with a warning. Upon repeating this offense, harsher punishments will be distributed fairly and justly as needed. If you follow these rules, you will have no need to worry of any consequences.
