(*retypes as much as is possible as her post she's sure she has typed, disappeared*)
He tilts his head as the other speaks and then shakes his head slowly, water drops dripping from his snout as he walks to one of the trees shattered around this place, settling himself down there "Yes.. food sounds... wonderful." He watches the lizards too and the birds, before he snorts "Yet, it would be better if we waited for a while.." He seems to wince slightly at the word 'we', showing that he wasn't used to it either.
He stretches lightly and grins for a short while "I'm sure that they will be too active for us now.." again that word that meant with more than one, he suppressed a slight shiver and lowered his head so that it was placed on the sand. His eyes slowly closed and he sighs lightly, a small yawn parting his muzzle.

Instead of not replying to the brute's suggestion as he normally did when suggested something, Masurao nodded his head in agreement. It seemed the both of them were not used to having the company of another, as Masurao even knew that in the pack he preferred to be alone over being with others... until he had met Xenthia... but now that was behind him. Masurao rested his head on the sand ground, looking at the water before him. He had never really opened his mind to thoughts, but now he allowed them to trickle in his mind and bring forth questions. For one, why was Nightwing out here by himself? Masurao had never been one to pry and it was completely out of his nature, but if was to change for Xen, he would try to strike up a conversation. Perhaps even he could learn something...

He turns his cat eyes to the other and considers his question for a while, then nods "Indeed." He replies, voice soft "I never knew the joys of a pack." He continues, giving more useless information, well useless to him it was. He sighs lightly and then raises his head to look at the other Raptor "What about you?" He questioned lightly and offhandedly, as if it didn't matter to him. The claws on his forepaws scratch the ground slightly, leaving the ground scarred.
He tosses his head to the side, the gesture could be called almost playfully as it fell back to the ground, turning slightly so he lied more on his back he continued to watch the other with curiosity. Truly, he never saw someone else just as emotionless as himself.

At the brute's question, Masurao was silent for a while. He was thinking of what to say and the best way to say it. While thinking however, the other raptor repositioned himself, looking at Masurao. A hint of humor glinted in Masurao's eyes, but it was faint and distant. It had been so long since Masurao had laughed or even smiled at his most that he didn't know how to let it out, much like all his emotions. After his silence, Masurao tilted his head towards the direction in which they came, breaking his gaze from Nightwing.
"Not anymore..."
Masurao silently wondered if Xenthia was thinking of him, but he doubted it.... he doubted her. He left her... he left her... Left her alone with no explanantion. Of course, the situation had its own explanation, but he just couldn't have told her why he left. He would see her soon enough... perhaps.

He nods his head lightly "I see." He spoke softly. He didn't know anything else to say, he was maybe talking a lot now, but that also meant he would be soon talked out, it seemed that he was now, already. He had noticed the lack of emotion in the other and wondered how he became like this, even he showed some kind of emotion from time to time, any kind of emotion, mostly frustration at himself.
He keeps his head lowered, licking small scales on his jaw again with a thin tongue as he gazed thoughtfully at the water. He loved it actually, one of the little things he did, not that it mattered much for him. If the other didn't want to tell it was okay, but it didn't mean that curiosity faintly rose.

There was a great silence to follow. It was obvious the two were not used to speaking great amounts, especially for Masurao. All his words were said short and straight to the point. He never elaborated on anything. What point was there to? Most creatures didn't want to hear further information, or at least Masurao had never wanted to, unless it was Xen speaking.
Feeling the eerie silence around him, Masurao started to scan the area again, looking for anything that might be possible to eat. Though the sun was still high, anything left in the shadows would have lost thier energy from the sun... and then, it was as if fate had carried them a meal. A lone, and injured, Protoceratops was making its way to the oasis, Masurao having been a bit surprised that he hadn't seen or heard the brute earlier, as the brute was quite close now.
"Psst...."
Masurao made a quick, quiet sound to get Nightwing's attention, and then he tilted his head in the direction of the Protoceratops. It would be a perfect meal to bring down. Masurao stayed motionless, however, as he did not want to scare the creature away. They would have to wait until the creature came to the water's edge before they would attack, and Masurao made a notion with his head for both of them to stay still until the timing was just right...

He heard the small sound and lifted his head, bothered by silence he was not. He found often comfort in it, like now. He tilts his own head in the direction the other had mentioned and cat-like eyes widened in pleasure. His own head dips for a moment, he had understood the orders clearly, although he carefully shifted his body, so he could sprint forward after reaching the 'ok' from the raptor lying a few feet away from him.
His claws scratched the ground, but they didn't make a sound, or too low to be noticed by the other two around him, eyes where intently focused on the new prey, seeing suddenly that it was wounded he had to smirk. He seemed intently focused and muscles seemed to tense in expectation, although his eyes flickered from time to time to the other, unthanks his impatience he still waited for the other, who most likely had more experience in bigger prey.

As the battered beast made its way wearily to the water, Masurao very slowly pushed himself to a crouch, eyes never leaving the potential prey. It was just like hunting with the pack, only there were fewer raptors to take down the prey. Still, Masurao had single-handedly took down brutes larger than this Protoceratops, even ones that weren't injured. This one would be easier to take down, but there was no way Masurao could do it alone with his injured tendon. He would need Nightwing's help for sure.
The injured beast was nearly to the water now, his eyes only focused on the water, so therefore did not notice the two raptors. Masurao decided now was the time. He glanced to Nightwing to signal it was time to go, and Masurao burst forth with a feirce screech. The Protoceratops snapped its weary head up, bellowing in suprise as Masurao leaped in the air, landing on the back of the brute. Immeadiately, his good killing claw slashed into the belly of the beast as other claws and teeth clung onto his flesh. The struggling beast bellowed once more and thrashed about, looking for anyway to get rid of Masurao.

He continued watching, by chance meeting the other's gaze as he nods, with a grin he burst forward too, staying low to the ground as he ran to it. His jaws parted and he bit in the rough skin as he jumped also, clinging to the beast's side, own claws helping to rip the wounded dinosaur open. His eyes gleamed as he felt the blood run down and he bit down again in a new spot, tighter than before.
He tried to stay put as it tried to get away, but everything in his jaws wouldn't escape, many smaller creatures had know it as they let out their last breath. He looks up once more, trying to spot the other still on their prey's back. His green eyes closed then, making the blackness of his scales complete. His claws gleamed faintly before they ripped into the dinosaur's flesh, trying to cause as much damage as was possible for him.

Masurao did not stop his torrent of teeth and claws onto the prey. The taste of blood in his mouth drove him to finish this fight. The already injured protoceratops was clearly weaking by the two carnivores and Masurao knew it wouldn't be long before he fell. The protoceratops bellowed and tried to literally buck them off, but his weakening legs failed to hold him and down he fell to the dry earth.
As soon as he was down, Masurao realeased the grip from his mouth and grabbed the brute's neck, clamping down hard to cut off his air. After a few long momments, the injured ceratops took his last breath and died. Masurao unlatched his teeth from the brute and stepped off of him, shaking his head to release the tension on his body. They had done well together, Nightwing and him. Masurao wasn't one to pass out compliments lightly, and very rarely did so, but for Xen he would change his ways, even if it started just a little at a time.
"Good... job."
It was clear in his voice that Masurao was not used to telling others they had done good, but he had said it even so. To try to break the awkwardness, and to forget it, he dug his jaws into the hip of the prey, tearing off a hunk and filling his empty stomach with a good feeling of food.
