Group: Herd
Name: Storm Herd
Unclaimed Land #: Hagina Grasslands, Unclaimed Land #1
Leader: Rayunga
Ranks:
Leader- This will be Rayunga and eventually her heiress. Lead Bull- This will be Rayunga's male, and the most important male in the herd. He has lots of power. Warriors (Unlimited)- These, along with the Breeders, are the bulk of the herd. These are the herbivores that are trained specifically for fighting and protecting the herd. Breeders (Unlimited)- These are also the bulk of the herd. These are the dinosaurs that have gone through training, know how to fight, but have dedicated their lives to breeding for the herd and passing on their lines. Young- These dinosaurs are self explanatory. They are the babes of the herd who are rather defenseless.
Description:This herd is much like that of the modern horse herd. When Rayunga finds a mate, if she does, she will share her power, but for the moment, she is the absolute dictator of this herd. However, she is kind, most kind and understanding, so the title tyrant or dictator would not really fit.
Theoritically speaking, if Rayunga had a mate, she would in some ways have even more power than him because she founded the herd. So, this brings us to the conclusion that Rayunga's very word is law. Anything she wants to be done is to be done. It is that simple. Her mate would have much of the same power.
Among the rest of the herd, there would be no power over the other. All would be equal in speciality in the sight of two leaders. But if violence ever entered the the herd, making the herd battle against another herd or pack or clan, the nursing or due femmes and their babes would be the first priority to check. In such a situation, Rayunga would round up the females of the herd, and shepherd them to safety while the males with her mate would protect them. After Rayunga would bring them to a safer place, she could then split the number of cows available to fight as evenly as possible and leave, if needed, the majority with the females who could not battle, and then Rayunga would leave with her chosen group of faes to fight with the bulls.
Upon leaving, Rayunga would appoint one sow to take charge if the occasion arose. But essentially, the sows could be equal in power and take care of each other, not letting one female do it all.
From the time an Iguanadon is born till the time it can make its own decisions, the dams are considering whether they are to be fighters or breeders. Along with Rayunga.
The breeders are the Iguanadons, whether male or female who are not really for patrolling or for fighting, though all go through training. They are to keep the lines going. Since the lead bull is the lead bull, he has any and every right to breed with any female he wants, though he has his favorite, which would be Rayunga.
However, like it was stated earlier, in some ways, Rayunga would have more power than her mate ever could. If a female and a male in the herd fell in love and approached Rayunga to be mates and she approved, which she would unless there was a reason, then the lead bull would have no right over her.
Then, there's the fighters, which are strictly for protecting the herd, though they too can pass on their lines at some point. They are trained at the age of one, along with the breeders, but when the breeders reach the end of their training, the designated fighters keep on training extensively.
Because all respect is given to all members of the herd, it is a given that Rayunga's children are ranked just as high as any other child in the herd. They are no more special.
Traits: No special traits are needed, just the willingness to obey and respect.
